MACRAO Annual Conference 2020

When the Conference Planning Committee chose "Looking to the Future" as the theme of the 2020 Conference, we had no idea what was about to happen this year! But the theme is perhaps even more appropriate as we approach the end of a momentous year, in both higher education and in our everyday lives.

The 2020 Conference will be held completely online. Each session "slot" will have a mix of virtual sessions led by MACRAO members and others who are experienced in the subject matter being presented. In that way, this year's virtual conference won't seem that different other than the way it's being delivered. A big difference, though, will be that you can choose which "slots" you are available to attend (and are interested in, of course!). Unlike being at the conference in person, we all have daily commitments that might prevent attending everything... so feel free to drop in when you're available.

There is no cost to attend this year's conference. We are asking that you pre-register, however, so we have an idea of how many people will be attending. If you currently have a username and password for the website, please visit the 2020 MACRAO Conference page and then click on the registration button. If you don't have a login yet, contact your institution's MACRAO Key Contact and ask them to add you to the list of members from your college or university. Then log in and register!

We look forward to "seeing" you at the 2020 Conference!

MACRAO responding to COVID-19

Travel budgets are a challenge for many MACRAO member institutions right now, so MACRAO is working to deliver networking and professional development opportunities virtually. One of the benefits of this approach is that we're able to welcome members who might have been unable to attend in the past due to cost or distance. This also gives us a wider pool of expertise and talent to work with as session presenters, either online, in-person, or in a hybrid format, and it seems likely that we'll continue to offer more remote access opportunities even if we're able to return to "normal" at some point in the future.

Higher education is facing new challenges due to COVID-19. So are our professional associations. MACRAO intends to continue to provide value to its members as we move ahead through this unique moment in our history.

Thanks for your patience and support.
