Treasurer- Elect

Mary Wesolek

Assistant Director for RN to BSN and MSN Programs, Siena Heights University

Mary has been working in higher education for almost 4 years now and that entire time has been with Siena Heights University.  She is a graduate of Mott Community College with an associates in general studies and Central Michigan University with a Bachelors of Science in Political Science and Communication.  She is a current master’s student and will complete her degree in Organizational Leadership from Siena Heights University in December of 2023.

Mary was hired by Siena Heights as an Enrollment Advisor in October of 2018 and her role included serving online students in every state of the United States except Michigan.  At Siena, that means all recruitment aspects, transcript evaluations, academic advising, and graduation audits.  Siena has a unique cradle to grave approach for their online students.  She is passionate about her students and in January of 2022 was promoted to Assistant Director and the following April took over the RN to BSN and MSN programs so that will be her sole focus moving forward.  Mary is a current VP of the Legislative Issues committee with MACRAO and HIGHLY recommends joining it and jumping in with both feet.  Look for her at the annual conference playing the devil’s advocate to everyone’s point of view during the Legislative Issues session.

When she isn’t working, Mary is a wife and mother to 4 boys, (Cooper 10, Drew 9, Seth 6, and Tucker 5), so that is pretty time consuming.  She enjoys dancing of any variety, but was once a classically trained ballerina.  She is known for her very coordinated accessories, the color pink, and being loud and outspoken.

President-Elect

Senior Associate University Registrar, University of Michigan - Ann Arbor

Lisa Emery is a Senior Associate Registrar at the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor. She has worked in higher education for twenty-three years, starting as a consultant in Accenture’s Higher Education division for three years, before transitioning to the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor in 2002.  Lisa served as the Product Manager for student administrative systems, where she partnered with the Admissions and Registrar’s offices to prioritize and implement IT projects.  In 2014 she moved to her current role at the Registrar’s Office, where she manages several areas supporting students and faculty, including reporting, degree audit, curriculum, examinations, and teaching evaluations. She represents the Registrar’s Office on many cross-campus initiatives such as preferred pronouns, academic calendar changes, and course evaluation policies.  She also mentors several first-generation undergraduate students.  Lisa has a bachelor’s degree in economics and a master’s degree in information policy, both from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor.  She recently earned a PhD in educational leadership from Eastern Michigan University.  Her dissertation examined factors impacting job satisfaction and retention of Chief Enrollment Management Officers.

Lisa has been involved with MACRAO since 2014 and has chaired the Enrollment Management committee for the past two years.  She is also a member of AACRAO’s Technology committee and has presented several times at AACRAO’s Annual Meetings and Technology & Transfer conferences.  She completed AACRAO’s SEM Endorsement Program in 2021 and has published in AACRAO’s SEM Quarterly journal.
