2020 Annual Conference information

MACRAO's 2020 Annual Conference officially kicks off today!

Key information:

  • The conference schedule, including the links to each GoToMeeting session room, is on the conference web page at https://macrao.memberclicks.net/annual-conference-2020
  • Each room is limited to 150 attendees, so be sure to log in a few minutes early for the sessions you want to attend.
  • If you can't get in or have a conflict, we'll be recording each session and they'll be posted following the conference so you can view them when it's convenient!
  • Please leave your webcams off and microphones muted unless the moderator says otherwise. This will keep the background distractions to a minimum for our presenters.
  • If you have questions or comments, please use the chat window. The moderator will pass them along to the presenters if time allows.

Wednesday we'll have a brief welcome at 2 p.m., followed by an update from AACRAO and then our keynote presenter, Dr. Tim McKay of the University of Michigan, discussing "Liberal Arts Education and the Transcript of the Future."

Thursday has four session blocks, at 9 a.m., 10:30 a.m., 2 p.m., and 3:30 p.m. Each block has three or four interesting sessions for you.

Thursday is also the MACRAO Annual Business Meeting at noon. Along with recognizing our award winners and volunteers, we will vote on our President-Elect and the Nomination Committee members for 2021 and also vote on accepting some revisions to the MACRAO by-laws. Please plan to have at least one person from your institution attend the meeting! Each institution gets one vote, so please determine who will be voting for your school. Since we won't have voting cards this year in our virtual format, please have an item (hat, shirt, business card, mug, etc.) with your institution's logo on it to hold up to your webcam for voting. This will let us count votes while also making sure there's only one vote per institution.

Friday has the final two session blocks, at 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.

We'd like to thank our sponsors for their commitment to MACRAO: College Scheduler by Civitas LearningCollegeSourceMotimaticParadigm, and Workday. Each has a session planned during the conference.

The MACRAO Annual Conference brings us together to share ideas, information, and recognition for the efforts and achievements of the last year. It is also an opportunity for us as a community to support a common cause. This year’s chosen charity is Wellspring Lutheran, specifically their new facility, Michigan’s first public recovery high school. Wellspring Academy will support teens who have struggled with drugs and alcohol to maintain sobriety and complete their high school diploma. A GoFundMe campaign has been set up specifically for this year’s MACRAO conference: https://charity.gofundme.com/wellspringacademy. Your generous monetary donation is greatly appreciated. Together, we can look to the future and help ensure the success of this endeavor! For more information about the academy, please visit: https://www.wellspringacademy.com/.

Thanks for being part of this virtual version of the Annual Conference, as we keep "Looking to the Future!"
